Mutually recognized LED standards to be applied in Taiwan and Fujian
According to reports by China News Service, a mutually recognized agreement on LED standards was signed by the LED Street Lighting Industry Alliance of Taiwan and the Fujian Optoelectronics Industry Association. As a result, both sides will apply the same standards for LED products such as LED strip and LED streetlight from companies in Taiwan and Fujian.
The recognized standards are only applicable to high-power LED streetlights and streetlight-used LEDs while the agreement lays foundation for mutual recognition of LED standards between Taiwan and the mainland and cooperation between the two sides on LED streetlights. More than 30 suggestions offered by Taiwan’s organizations were adopted by the Fujian side to finalize the standards.
By setting up seamless connection between Taiwan’s and the mainland’s standards for LED products, the two sides will be able to enjoy the benefit of a common standard platform that will give LED makers from Taiwan and mainland advantages in competing on global market. Since both Taiwan and Fujian governments are working hard on development of LED industry, the common standard platform will create development strength for both sides.
